Hello Mama, it's me calling
Pause, listen, I need your attention,
I've heard you constantly lamenting
I can't bear my parents’ tension

Since the day you sought my extinction
I've been gloomy, so restless, Mother
When you asked your friend’s suggestion
I kicked you to resist listening to her

My first trimester, I did suck my thumb
And prayed fervently that you showed care
Pleaded, cried to you not to succumb
To that tension that you could not bear

I waited, prayed, when you spoke to daddy
I felt his rage and his bark at you
“Discard the foetus”, my dearest buddy
His heartless reply as he kicked his shoe

Mama, wait, you know nothing of me
Listen and I will tell it all to you
Tis my destiny to fly across seas
And bring you joy you never knew

The milk is already spilt, cry no more
Man is prone to rise, cry, fail or fall
Mama, rise, stand tall and clean your sore
Let's stagger on, let's be over all

Tell me now! Is life not worth living?
It is, ‘cos you love to live, to have fun
Every month of love, you go Merry-go-rounding
No plans, no thoughts you might have a son

I've got ambitions, I wish to be known
Patch your life on time, save nine stitches now
Uplift my dreams, don't leave me alone
And I'll never, ever let you down

Helpless, you trudged to the slaughter house
Pining, my heart did a somersault
Lonely, I crept, wept like the town mouse
Moaning, in vain, in pain my life I lost

Hey Mama, it's me calling on the road
I come again on your next Valentine date
Nine and a month gone, revenge is my goad
my pound of flesh from you and your careless mate.
